Dublin Speaker Series

The inaugural Ohio University Dublin Speaker Series sessions occurred this year with a focus on healthy aging. This series, with a session each semester, provided valuable information to attendees and enhanced the profile of the university’s Dublin campus. The fall session held featured a program on exercise and aging entitled “Live Longer, Live Stronger” presented by Drs. Clark and Consitt. The spring event, “The Art of Aging with a Healthy Brain,” discussed cognitive concerns/prevention and was presented by Drs. Muniz-Terrera and Suhr. These programs were well attended and received by members of the community.

Early outreach

In FY 2023-24, two new early outreach programs were launched to engage middle school students in central Ohio. The Bandage a Bobcat program, led by Chett Pritchett, in collaboration with OhioHealth, was launched on the Dublin Campus in April 2024. In addition, the BeCOMe U program, led by Terry Porter, also in collaboration with OhioHealth, was launched in June and had a three-part series throughout the summer with numerous activities. The early outreach programs are set to be implemented on the Athens and Cleveland campuses moving forward.
