A Note from the Executive Dean
"I truly believe that our position as 'Ohio's medical school' has been solidified by the strides of our past academic year. "

Heritage College entered FY 2022-23 with a singular goal in mind: Progress toward our vision of a healthier Ohio.
Armed with a new strategic plan and the ongoing support of incredible partners such as the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations, our students, faculty and staff set to work, and boy did we deliver!
- For the second consecutive year, a record 98% of Heritage College students matched into residency placements—an achievement that we honored through our first combined in-person Match Day Celebration.
- We increased research funding by 33% while pressing forward with plans for the new Heritage Translational Research Center.
- We expanded our community outreach through a new choice food pantry and the purchase of a new mini-mobile unit.
- And our accolades underscored our upward trajectory: In fact, we were named a top-50 medical school for primary care by U.S. News and World Report for the first time in college history!
These are just a few of the milestones highlighted on the following pages of our 2022-23 Annual Report—a snapshot of the significant progress achieved in one year’s time.
Today, Heritage College is number 1 for Ohio recruits. We are number 1 for matching in Ohio with match rates that far exceed national averages for both M.D.’s and D.O.’s. We are the state’s number 1 producer of rural physicians, and—true to our mission—we are Ohio’s number 1 producer of primary care providers.
I truly believe that our position as “Ohio’s medical school” has been solidified by the strides of our past academic year. As you engage with our 2022-23 Annual Report, I hope you share my pride in the incredible impact that we continue to make with each passing year. Onward and upward!
