Dawn Mollica, BA., was selected as the 2024 Friend of Family Medicine Award by The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians

Leanne Chrisman-Khawam, D.O. was selected as the Northeast Ohio Top Family Physician in April 2024

Cheryl Hammes, D.O., was named the ACOFP Family Medicine Physician of the Year in April 2024

Nicklaus Hess, D.O., completed his term as president of the Ohio Osteopathic Association in April 2024 and is the president-elect of the Ohio Chapter of the ACOFP

Melinda Ford, D.O., received the Ohio ACOFP Distinguished Service Award

Jennifer Gwilym, D.O., was named the ACOFP Outstanding Female Leader of the Year

John Schriner, Ph.D., was awarded the 2024 Osteopathic Association Meritorious Service Award

Administration appointment Robin Newburn, D.O., was appointed the Associate Director of the Office of Rural and Underserved Programs in spring 2024

Ten scientists from the Ohio Musculoskeletal and Neurological Institute ranked in the top 5% of all scientists in the world and six rank in the top 0.5% of their respective fields in the latest Scholar GPS rankings.

Anti-Racism Discussion Series

The Department of Primary Care Anti-Racism Discussion Group organized five anti-racism discussion sessions for Heritage College employees, Osteopathic Primary Care Associates and students. This year was the first year for the sessions to be held in-person since before the pandemic. Between 20-50 participants across many departments and offices attended each session.

New Outreach Program Implemented

Dublin Assistant Director of Admissions and Outreach, Terry Porter, developed and implemented a new admissions outreach program, PreDOC, to further connect with over 100 from early assurance program (EAP) partner schools, undergraduate students, pre-med clubs, and advisors to strengthen pipelines and enhance recruitment strategies to establish diverse class cohorts. Utilizing distance learning technology, all campuses were able to participate in this new program. Additionally, a separate EAP Leadership lecture series was established to further engage pipeline/partnering EAP students at all program sites.
