Athens Campus Dean Commencement Message

GRADUATES,

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff at the Heritage College, Athens, it is my privilege to congratulate the members of the Class of 2026.

While the path you have traveled may not always have been what you anticipated, rest assured that your years at the Heritage College have prepared you for the road ahead. It is not just your lives and your college years that have been impacted, the way that we practice medicine will also forever be changed by the COVID pandemic. Among these changes, there is an expanding role for telehealth, and population health is now increasingly recognized as a key component to individual wellness. You are bringing your insight, knowledge, first-hand experience and talent to the team of care providers, and creating solutions that will help our patients in the immediate future and for years to come.

As you enter into your new role of physician, reflect on the challenges that you have already overcome, the resilience that you have displayed and the care that you have already provided. Keep your mind open to your new possibilities and realize that you have the skills and ability to succeed and to shape the evolution of the osteopathic profession.

Each of you has contributed to the legacy and life of our Athens campus. I encourage you to go forth and serve our communities with humility, passion and commitment to the osteopathic profession. Congratulations!
