Convocation greeting from the Executive Dean
Dear members of the Class of 2028,
Congratulations on a great start at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine! With support and encouragement from your loved ones, you triumphed over an extremely competitive selection process. You should be very proud of this accomplishment!
When you made the decision to attend medical school at Ohio University, you became part of an esteemed heritage that traces back to 1976, when our inaugural class of 24 students began classes in Athens. With the opening of our campuses in Dublin in 2014 and Cleveland in 2015, our college has grown dramatically. But our commitment to training high-quality physicians to address the most pervasive health care needs has not wavered. Rest assured that when your Heritage College training is complete, you will be fully prepared to lead and succeed in today’s rapidly changing health care environment.
The Heritage College places care at the center of everything we do. We pride ourselves in the supportive and caring learning environment that we have created for students. We believe this is the secret ingredient for our physicians in training, which translates into the compassionate patient care for which our graduates are known.
You have chosen a profession dedicated to improving human health and lives. In this ceremony, we celebrate your entry into the osteopathic medical community, a distinguished group of professionals committed to excellence in patient care and the well-being of our communities. There is no better place to learn the art and science of osteopathic medicine than at the Heritage College in Athens, Cleveland and Dublin.
On behalf of the college, I extend our best wishes for your continued success!
