Timeline of the Heritage College

While osteopathic medicine began as an alternative approach to health care on the American frontier, it has since grown into one of the fastest-expanding areas of medicine in the United States. As a leader in the profession, the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine has been shaping the future of health for the last 50 years. Since our founding in 1975, we’ve expanded from a single campus to three locations around the state. With compassion at our core and innovation in our DNA, we continue to lead with care—impacting lives, advancing medicine and staying true to our mission: to transform the health and well-being of communities in Ohio and beyond.
