Catch up with campus

The Heritage College welcomed the Class of 2028 (pictured above) to medical school at the start of the fall semester. More than 4,500 prospective students applied to the college this year for 260 spots in the Heritage College’s Class of 2028. Of those admitted, more than 92 percent are from Ohio, 32.5 percent are from groups underrepresented in medicine, and 17.5 percent are first-generation college students.

How the Grinch stole Heriatge Hall

In December the Grinch left Whoville and set his sights on Heritage Hall. With Rufus by his side to serve as his reindeer, the Grinch stole the log for the fire, the Christmas tree and even the Who Hash. Check our OUHCOM on Instagram to see Dean Johnson's antics as he got into character.

The Giving Tree

Heritage College faculty, staff and students got into the holiday spirit ahead of winter break with Cocoa with the Dean and packing up gifts from the Giving Tree. The Giving Tree Project helps to provide gifts to Athens County Children’s Services for children in need during the holiday season. Students were also treated to the annual Cocoa with the Dean event.

2024 Cat Camp

Over the summer, the Diabetes Institute’s Cat Camp opened its doors to youth aged 8-17 across southeastern Ohio, offering a unique blend of education, camaraderie and fun for those living with type 1 diabetes. This year’s week-long session welcomed 19 campers from 10 different counties in Ohio and West Virginia. The camp aims to empower young participants by enhancing their diabetes management skills while fostering friendships and a sense of belonging.
